I have recently read an interesting findings related to mechanism of action of novel coronavirus [(Hoffmann et al., SARS-CoV-2 Cell Entry Depends on ACE2 and TMPRSS2 and Is Blocked by a Clinically
Proven Protease Inhibitor, Cell (2020), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cell.2020.02.052%5D, and have some suggestions.

As This has been proven that virus entry can be efficiently blocked by SERPINs (Serine protease inhibitors), I want to suggest one more potential broad spectrum SERPIN that is alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT, also known as alpha-1-proteinase inhibitor), which is already being used for treating pulmonary emphysema, COPD etc.

Please find the possibility if someone can test this molecule (commercially available as “PROLASTIN, ARALAST, ZEMAIRA etc.) for efficacy against this novel corona virus.

    Hoping for some good results.
