Steve Hoffmann

Steve Hoffmann is Senior Vice President and Chief Preclinical Officer at the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH), where he supports public-private partnerships designed to advance biomedical research. His work focuses on translational biomarkers, clinical research innovation and precision medicine, including initiatives that support the development of new therapies.

Hoffmann has experience across the academic, government and life science sectors. Before joining FNIH, he worked in project and product management supporting protein diagnostics development at Meso Scale Discovery. He previously conducted research in the Transplantation and Autoimmunity Branch of the National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases.

Hoffmann holds an MS in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of Pittsburgh.
