Meet the speakers

Dr Lukas Badertscher | Vice President of R&D, Myllia
Dr Lukas Badertscher is Vice President of R&D at Myllia Biotechnology, where he leads high-content CRISPR screening projects in primary human cells to drive unbiased drug target discovery and generate high-dimensional datasets for AI foundation models in biology. Dr Badertscher has more than a decade of experience in functional genomics and CRISPR technologies, having conducted research in both academia and industry at the Friedrich Miescher Institute, ETH Zurich and AstraZeneca.

Dr Majd Ariss | Principal Scientist, Cell Signaling Technology
Dr Majd Ariss is a Principal Scientist at Cell Signaling Technology and a leading expert in single-cell research. He developed InTraSeq Single Cell Analysis, a method for simultaneously measuring RNA and proteins in individual cells, including post-translational modifications.
Dr Ariss has authored and co-authored numerous research publications, including three first-author publications on the application of single-cell technologies. He received his BS and MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the American University of Beirut and Georgetown University respectively and his PhD from the University of Illinois Chicago, where he was among the first researchers in the state to use high-throughput single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) technology and spearheaded the adoption of the Drop-Seq scRNA-seq platform.
After earning his doctorate, Majd was a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Norbert Perrimon at Harvard Medical School, serving as the single-cell expert. He joined Cell Signaling Technology in 2021
