Dr Dana Watt

Dana Watt, PhD is a partner at Breakout Ventures, an investment firm that partners with exceptional founders scaling scientific innovation. Dana works closely with early-stage founders, leading the firm’s investment strategy and supporting companies as they reach key commercialisation milestones.

Dana earned her doctorate in neurobiology and neuroscience at Washington University in St. Louis before joining the university’s entrepreneurship centre to institutionalise support for SBIR/STTR-funded spinouts. Prior to joining Breakout in 2021, Dana was Senior Investment Associate at Ascension Ventures and Co-founder of a molecular diagnostics startup. Dana is a Kauffman Fellow and a board member at Breakout portfolio company Passkey Therapeutics.
