The European Antibody Congress is returning to the city of Basel for its 14th year on the 29-31 October 2018, and here is everything you need to know about our biggest event yet…

Whats new?

The European Antibody Congress 2018 will be bringing you an entirely new track titled “Computational antibody discovery and development”, and additional tracks focusing on protein engineering, investment and regulation. Across the three days, we will be host to over 100 speakers just focusing on antibodies.

The congress this year is now part of the Festival of Biologics, and will also be bringing you four other conferences: The World Immunotherapy Congress, the World Biosimilar Congress, Clinical Trials 2018, and HPAPI World Congress.

For 2018 we are also bringing you 4 exciting keynote sessions across the three days:

  • The opening keynote taking place on the 29th October delivers talks from some of the leading representatives in big pharma, discussing key challenges and successes within the antibody space. Rakesh Dixit, Vice President, R&D, Global Head Biologics Safety Assessment, from MedImmune will be joining us to discuss advancements in antibody drug conjugates, and therapeutic challenges of safety and efficacy.
  • Our day two keynote session will look at antibody strategies across the industry, with Roy Baynes, SVP And Head of Global Clinical Development, and CMO at Merck, Sharp & Dohme (MSD) will be presenting an overview of antibody strategies.
  • Day three will open with the “World leading research” keynote session, where four world renowned academics will present new data and insights into the academic side of the antibody area. Speakers within this session include Andreas Plückthun, from the department of biochemistry at the University of Zurich, and Roland Kontermann, Professor of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
  • The congress will close with a session on “Next generation antibody formats”, where scientists who are working on the next big thing will be speaking about their work. Hear Paul Carter, Senior Director and Staff Scientist, Antibody Engineering, Genentech discuss the use of antibodies as drugs, and hear Partha Chowdhury, Senior Director and Head of Antibody Discovery at Sanofi Genzyme talk about the evolution and advancements in cancer immunotherapy.
